Succulent Meat Dishes at Carnivore Cebu

Carnivore Cebu
If you love meat and you are willing to spend money for good food, you should have a meal at Carnivore Cebu.  This restaurant in The Gallery, Mabolo has a perfect name for the type of person who would surely be happy devouring any of their tasty creations.

Carnivore has an open kitchen.  You can see how your meat is prepared.  Please do not go here if you just wanna have salads because the chef deserves to showcase her skills with her amazing meat creations.

Carnivore Cebu Beef Bone Marrow
On some weeks, you could enjoy their steak and bone marrow masterpiece.  If you are the type who would suck a pochero/bulalo bone like a vampire, in Carnivore, you can be a bit classy because you can enjoy the fatty goodness of beef bone marrow using a fork and a knife.  They use Kitayama Wagyu Beef Bone Marrow for this dish.

Yummy Lamb Shank at Carnivore Cebu

This 48-Hour Sous Vide Australian Lamb Shank has that fall-off-the-bone tenderness.  It is really succulent! The technical skills of the chef here are rare in Cebu restaurants. According to Wikipedia Sous-vide (/sˈvd/; French for "under vacuum")[1] is a method of cooking food sealed in airtight plastic bags in a water bath or in a temperature-controlled steam environment for longer than normal cooking times—96 hours or more, in some cases—at an accurately regulated temperature much lower than normally used for cooking, typically around 55 °C (131 °F) to 60 °C (140 °F) for meats and higher for vegetables.

How many local restaurants do that? At Carnivore, they have several Sous-Vide Dishes. The Australian Lamb that we had was tender and it smells so good. The serving is really big and it could be enjoyed by two people.

Asturias Pork at Carnivore Restaurant Cebu
The restaurant does not only feature meat from abroad, they also source many of their proteins locally. Take this grilled Pork Porterhouse from Asturias. This cut is perfect for someone who loves to have protein and not much fat.  The meat is lean and it is well seasoned.  I really love the taste of sea salt in this dish.  Lean yet so flavourful, it goes so well with the mashed potatoes.

The restaurant also sources some of their beef from Bukidnon and most of their greens come from Liloan.  They are very proud of their sources that they print it in their menu.  What a classy move!

You can even choose between salad, mashed potato or rice for your meal.

Carnivore Burger
For people who prefer sandwiches, well they have a burger made of Wagyu and Angus Beef topped with Cheddar Cheese.  For a healthier alternative, they also chicken wraps and fish tacos.
Know what you eat
Price-wise, they are a bit expensive but they offer a lot of unique dishes.  This place is perfect for people who work out and want a lot of protein in their diet.  A great restaurant for those who are into Type O diet. Instagram users will have their fill of #foodporn eligible dishes here.

I really had a great time there.  I am indeed a Carnivore and the restaurant is perfect for me. I'll probably be back soon. ;)

Comments

  1. What's the average price point for their dishes? I've been wanting to visit Carnivore since last year.

There's also Chop Chop, a Singaporean Hawker-inspired restaurant at The Gallery. I now think that most of the up and coming dining places in Cebu are all there.

  2. Upwards 200.... Some dishes even at 500 plus but it could be good for couple. This is not your typical restaurant that just fry food. The food really looks good and tastes great.
