Kalami Cebu! - A Gastronomic Guide to Cebu

There has been a lot of new restaurants that has opened at Parkmall in the past couple of weeks.  One of the newest that really piqued my interest is Slate District in Parkmall.  After my first taste, this new restaurant has become one of my top places for baby back ribs and chicken wings.

Last Sinulog, I had a couple of friends coming over from Manila and we had several food trips.  One of their favorites was the first place that I brought them to while they were here, Cebu's Original Lechon Belly at Parkmall. Cebu City is probably the roasted pork capital in the world and one of the recent trends when it comes to preparing a lechon is the lechon belly. The boneless lechon is made of purely the trunk of the pig. This version has no head, tails, and bones.  The lechon belly is perfect for people who do not like to see a pig's head while having lunch.  The lechon belly makers basically isolates all the best parts of a lechon for your enjoyment.

A couple of weeks ago, we were in Parkmall and my wife wanted to have snacks.  We passed by Mooon Cafe and decided to eat there.  We realized that the restaurant has new snack items in their menu.  We ordered the Potato Rajas and the Mooonte Cristo.  We had a blast eating the new items although we felt that the new entrees were a bit expensive for its price.

One time, I was pretty bored and I was looking for a place to eat in the Parkmall area.  The choices are many.  Actually to me that sometimes I lose appetite then I saw this new place named Hans Rice Burger. Rice Burger? What in the world is that? My curiosity got a hold me and I decided to check the new place. A rice burger is basically made of 2 rice patties instead of bread.  Hans Rice Burger has a unique flavor profile as it selling Rice Burgers with spam, kimchi, meat, eat, and other interesting combinations as the "burger".  The rice burgers are quiet affordable. They have so many choices at Hans Burger that sometimes first timers get overwhelmed.  To aid you, you have to decide wether you want Filipino, Korean or Special Combination. Filipino choices include Longanisa, Tocino, Tapa, Corned Beef, and Sisig while the Korean choices include spam, Kimchi, spam tuna, kimchi tuna, spicy pork or chicken and sweet pork or chicken. Kalami Cebu Gang: Carlo, Clyde, Nezte Clyde Inso was celebrating his 25th birthday and we decided to try Choobi Choobi Restaurant.  Choobi Choobi is located at the Parkmall complex in North Reclamation Area, Mandaue City . It is a restaurant that specializes in seafood dishes and Filipino cuisine .
