Kalami Cebu! - A Gastronomic Guide to Cebu

Barely 3 years after opening its maiden branch, Abaca Baking Company (ABC) has opened its ninth branch at Robinsons Galleria Cebu.  This bakery/coffee shop/ all-day breakfast place has been providing Cebuanos the most delicious pastries and bread in the Queen City of the South.  One thing I love about ABC is their ability to come out with awesome creations at Cebuano-friendly pricing.

One day, I went out to check the latest DVDs available at my favorite stall in E-Zone Paseo.  I saw that a couple of new food spots opening in that area. Since it was early afternoon, I went to check out Cafe Jasmin, a coffee shop owned by a friendly Korean woman.  At first I thought it was just one of those cute Korean-themed cafes but I was wrong.  Cafe Jasmin offers delicious coffee made from high-quality beans that make this unassuming a cafe a great spot for your daily caffeine fix.

One fine day last year, my sales team was looking for a place for a meeting. We ended up in Baseline Residences since we went to the Redemptorist Church before our meeting.  At Baseline, our choice was between Bo's Coffee and this other cafe called Sprocketeer. Bo's was a bit crowded then so I decided we just check the other place out.

Korean cafes have been popping up in Cebu and it seems to me that they are here to stay for a while. The concepts are so creative and some cafes really look so cute that they become the favorite hangout place to young people.  Many people actually go to these cafes for the #selfie potential more than its coffee.   One of the cutest ones that we've been to is Cafe Namoo in City Times Square Mandaue.  This branch is actually their second branch but I prefer this to the other branch because of its accessibility and parking.  You really can't help but appreciate the treehouse theme of the cafe and the post-its that fill every nook and cranny of each compartment. Cafe Namoo is good place to study or just simply have a relaxing read.  You can relax while sitting on the floor and hugging a bean bag. One of the nicest looking cafes in Cebu is Dolce.  Dolce is located in Nivel Hills and it offers a lot of yummy creations that can satisfy any sweet tooth.  It is hard to miss the place, you will pass by Dolce when you are going to Marco Polo Plaza hotel.  It is in the left side when you are coming from the city. Dolce which means sweet in Italian is basically a boutique cafe that boasts of an impressive building structure and elegant interiors.  The place serves coffee, tea, and desserts. They offer their cake in slices or as a mini-cake version.
