Yesterday was the grand opening of 10 Dove Street Confectionery.   I have eaten at 10 Dove Street several times already and they are known for complete meals or snacks that are capped with some delicious cake. The newly opened cake shop focuses on the last part of the meal or the dessert.   10 Dove Street Confectionery is another heavenly place for the sweet tooth in Cebu.   Cake lovers were united at their grand opening as dozens of people line up to buy cakes and be a rewarded with an awesome gift.

 Summer is definitely the best time to be "addicted" to cold desserts.  It is the season when popsicles, ice candies, buko bars, and ice creams become so popular.  Eating ice-cold food is one the best ways to make you forget about the summer heat.  Among my favorite summertime treats is the halo-halo. I have eaten this Filipino dessert in many places, but I think I just discovered the best ever halo-halo for me. 

 Although I am not much of a sweet tooth, I usually go to a cafe or a dessert place at least once a week. To be honest, I really do not go to cafes to devour their tempting creations but more out of necessity as cafes have decent Wi-Fi connection making them a suitable place for meetings and working lunches. I usually prefer cafes that offer hot meals because I am more of a protein eater. I recently dropped by SM City Cebu and found out that Country Basket has opened a branch at the lower ground floor level of the mall.  I got to try some of their creations and I felt that Country Basket Pastries and More has the potential to be my favorite cafe in the area. 

I always have a craving for cold desserts during the summer.  Summer 2015 is particularly hot that I was really "forced" to look for some of the best places for desserts in Cebu City.  One time, a friend of mine asked for a suggestion and I told her to check out Isidra Comfort Cantina's dessert line up. I just wanted to eat Ice Candy that is why I told her that we'll go to this restaurant since I know they also have some other delicious dessert options.

Cold desserts are my favorite during a very hot summer. I recently discovered a very delicious treat at Gusto Urban Cafe + Wine Bar.  I was able to try their luxury sampler and I now have a "go-to" place when I happen to crave for some heavenly gelato.

I had a blog event last month and it was held at Cafe Sarree in Escario Street, Lahug Cebu City. This cafe is really known for its tantalizing desserts.  I was really looking forward to the snacks that they were going to serve.  Cafe Sarree did not disappoint as I was able to taste a very delicious Moist Chocolate Cake. I was not really feeling too well when I went to Cafe Sarree and I ordered a glass of hot kalamansi juice.  Chocolate cake with kalamansi juice is an unusual combination, but it worked out for me.  The cake was really yummy and I really liked the wet chocolate and caramel icing.  The cake was moist and had the right level of sweetness. Cafe Sarree is really one of the best cafes in Cebu when it comes to desserts. I will definitely come back here and check out their other specialties. I have been passing by Butterbean Desserts・Cafe in Escario and I never really found the time to eat there.  I thought the establishment was all about cookies and brownies. I was wrong. I checked it out last weekend and I ended eating my lunch there. 

If you ask Cebuanos, what is their favourite dessert shop? Many will consider La Marea is the home of the best desserts in Cebu.  One of the famous creations by La Marea is the Warm Brownie Cup.  A few days ago, I had dinner at Alejandro's at Crossroads.  After a filling meal of the house specialty Crispy Pata, my companions wanted to have a dessert. We decided to go to La Marea because it was just a few steps away.  We then ordered some of their best dessert creations. The classic blueberry cheesecake was expectedly good.  The slice is quite generous and it was oozing  with blueberry toppings.  This the famous warm brownie cup.  This La Marea's signature dessert.  The warm brownie cup was such a big hit that other cafes even get from La Marea just to offer this enjoyable treat.
