#MeetEatRepeat: Jullian Sibi's Housewarming

Image
It has been a while since the #Hibsters leads had a get-together .  We finally found a good reason to meet up when Jullian Sibi's family moved in to their new house in Guadalupe. I also wanted to celebrate  landing a new job.  Here is what we did in our latest Kalaminions #MeetEatRepeat session.

Kalaminions #MeetEatRepeat: Manggahan with Bisaya Youtuber Glenn Abucay

Image
I finally got to meet Bisaya Youtuber Glenn Abucay.  Apparently, blogger friend  +Hannah Frej  is a big fan of his and they collaborated to make a video a week before with the trekkers of NCR.  This time the young Cebuano Youtube sensation shared a meal with the Kalaminions at Manggahan .

Kalami Cebu thanks all the Kalaminions of 2016

Image
It was a great year for food and food trips for Kalami Cebu.  It would not have been this awesome if not for all the Kalaminions who participated in my food trips.  As the first "Thank You" post to cap the year, Kalami Cebu would like to recognize all the people who are instrumental in joining me in this food blog journey. Kalaminions of 2016

Kalaminions #MeetEatRepeat: St. Mark Hotel's Crispy Pata Buffet

Image
A couple of months ago I have been raving about St. Mark Hotel's Rico's Lechon Buffet. I enjoy it so much because it was affordable and it featured many dishes that I loved eating growing up. My only beef was that the buffet was only available 3 times a week.  Well, my prayers have been answered as the hotel recently launched their Crispy Pata Buffet featuring Alejandro's Crispy Pata.  Last week, I brought my "Kalaminions" from the Cebu Blogging Community (CBC) to feast on  the latest All-You-Can-Eat Buffet sensation in Cebu.

Cherry Prepaid Releases the "Most Delicious" Prepaid Mobile Promo

Image
Cebuanos love deals.  Whether we are talking about food, clothing, gadgets and probably even mobile load. Well, Cherry Mobile – the leading local mobile phone brand partnered with the giant  telco company, Globe Telecom to launch its very own prepaid service called as Cherry Prepaid and they have super amazing deals for Cebuanos.

#KCgoestoBohol: Estrella Bakery

Image
I am a "rice" guy when it comes to breakfast.  I have been that since I was a kid.  Given a choice between a Tapsilog and a McMuffin, I would choose the Tapsilog 99% of the time (save for the McDonald's National Breakfast Day). In my recent trip to Bohol, I had breakfast at Estrella Bakery and it made me realize that delicious bread and pastries can replace any rice meal on some days.

Seas the Day Bohol Tour: Kalami Cebu goes to Bohol

Image
A couple of weeks ago, I was invited by fellow blogger Lyza Ares to join the "Seas the Day Bohol Tour". Lyza is the lovely blogger behind  Coffee, Tea or Death .  Just like me, she has lots of relatives in Bohol. Lyza invited 8 other bloggers to check the different places to stay, eat, and relax in the island of Bohol.  The bloggers from the Cebu Blogging Community were hosted by Hannah Datoy-Dumaluan.

Leveling up my Food Blogging with Globe Tattoo MyFi

Image
I recently received a gift from Globe Prepaid as part of our participation in the Cebu Blogging Community DigitalPro Blogging Bootcamp for Professional Bloggers.  It was a Globe Tattoo MyFi device with a free SIM that has been preloaded with a GoSurf 999 data plan.  It came at a perfect time as I just had my handy Xperia Z1 back from the repair shop. For the past couple of days, the Globe Tattoo MyFi has been a companion in my blogging activities and I really find it useful.

Kalami Cebu joins CBC 21-Day DigitalPro Blogging Challege

Image
I have been food blogging for almost two years. It started as a hobby because I love good food and I always try to eat at new places. I also take a lot of photos and I do not like deleting them. I realized that the only recourse I have is to start a food blog. I told my friends about it and I normally get a lukewarm reception. I started Kalami Cebu anyway.  The food blog was supposed to be just a hobby and it was in the first couple of months. First Gear I was happy and content to just post pictures on my Facebook page.  In the first few months, I would be happy if Kalami Cebu gets around 500 views in total (for a month!). I was ecstatic when the views reached like a thousand. It was really just for fun and a way to really let go of those food photos on my phone.  Second Gear I started to change gears at the beginning of 2015.  I joined a 30-day blogging challenge to force me to write. I had so many unwritten materials that I needed to push myself out of...

Dinner with Tommy Osmeña

Image
Some bloggers of the Cebu Blogging Community had dinner with former Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmena a couple of nights ago.  I was fortunate to be one of the few people invited to the dinner and I realized that there was more to the strict and tough person that Tommy Osmena has been portrayed as. That night, I found out that Mayor Tomas was articulate, passionate, and most of all, he loves cooking. The group had an awesome dinner with the former mayor, highlighted with some dishes cooked by him, worthy to be featured in Kalami Cebu.

The Yummy Cebu Blogging Community Anniversary Party

Image
The Cebu Blogging Community had its first-anniversary party last July 4, 2015. The #CBCAnniversary Party was held at F Cafe and Bar at the Gallery in Mabolo, Cebu City.  The event was attended by the blogger-members and the event sponsors.  Thanks to our sponsors, the #CBCAnniversary Party turned out to be a super fun night. I really enjoyed it and I am looking forward to more events like this. First, I would like to acknowledge the sponsors for the anniversary party:
