When it comes to eat-all-you-can restaurants in Cebu, it is hard to beat the quality, variety, and value that Tokyo Table offers. Dessert Places in Cebu: 8 Specialties that you must try at Zucre

Image
When it comes to quick meals and desserts, one of my personal go-to places is Zucre Pastry Shop. The modest dessert place is located at the  2nd Floor of the bustling City Times Square in Mandaue City.  It is being managed by a young entrepreneur who intends to be one of the best cake makers in the metropolis in the years to come. I have been to Zucre several times already and I have listed my 8 favorite specialties of the cake shop/cafe.

6-19-2015 Food of the Day: Brownie- Layered Cheesecake by Zucre

Image
Zucre has been one of my favorite dessert shops here in Cebu and one of their best-selling cakes is the Brownie-Layered Cheesecake.  A delicious semi-acidic cheesecake being sandwiched in between two brownie layers makes a balanced and dulcet dessert. The cake goes so well with some hot coffee or tea.  It is a perfect cake to eat while spending an afternoon chatting with friends or working on reports.

6-3-2015 Food of the Day: Palabok at Zucre at City Times Square

Image
Ever since I ate my first pancit palabok around 30 years ago at Goldie’s, it has become my favorite Filipino noodle dish.   I love how it looks and the taste is just perfect for me. For me, the sauce and toppings are the most important components of the dish. The thick shrimp-based sauce of a palabok always bring a joy to my tongue. My favorite toppings are chicharon and shrimps.

Cebu Korean Cafe Invasion: Cafe Namoo

Image
Korean cafes have been popping up in Cebu and it seems to me that they are here to stay for a while. The concepts are so creative and some cafes really look so cute that they become the favorite hangout place to young people.  Many people actually go to these cafes for the #selfie potential more than its coffee.   One of the cutest ones that we've been to is Cafe Namoo in City Times Square Mandaue.  This branch is actually their second branch but I prefer this to the other branch because of its accessibility and parking.  You really can't help but appreciate the treehouse theme of the cafe and the post-its that fill every nook and cranny of each compartment. Cafe Namoo is good place to study or just simply have a relaxing read.  You can relax while sitting on the floor and hugging a bean bag. Each compartment has its own socket which is very convenient for students who are cramming or making a school project.  It is also a relaxing place for meeting ...
