Kalami Cebu! - A Gastronomic Guide to Cebu

More and more people now are eating at malls rather than have a baon or go to carenderias. One of the favorite food stalls at the mall of Kalami Cebu Food Scout  +Nezte Virtudazo  is Sisig in the City.  He really enjoys eating the pork sisig at this stall at the 2nd level of Robinsons Cybergate Cebu.  Pork Sisig is a dish invented in Pampanga made of chopped pork face that became a popular pulutan or beer mate.  In recent years, the sisig became a favorite main dish of Filipinos as well.  Built on this popularity, several entrepreneurs opened restaurants and food stalls banking on their secret sisig recipe. 

Golden Cowrie has always been one of my favorite Filipino restaurants here in Cebu.  I was pleasantly surprised when I learned that they now serve breakfast in Robinsons Cybergate.  Their loaded breakfast sets range from 69 to 139 pesos only. I got to try some of their items when Lyndon Escosura invited me for a late breakfast.

I have been feeling under the weather the past week and I have been suffering from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).  I do not know how I got sick but one of the fastest paths to recovery is through food . Food is medicine and it's a fact. Eating the right food will help the body heal itself. When you have IBS, you are usually told to avoid oily food, dairy, chocolate, and gaseous food like camote and beans. You are also advised to eat lots of fruits and food rich in fiber.  It is also good to drink lots of fluid to prevent dehydration.  When I have IBS, I usually eat congee or lugaw in local language. I usually prefer arroz caldo or pospas over lugaw.  Pospas is basically chicken congee with lots of ginger. Even if I fell sick, life must go on. I still have to go to the office at Robinsons Cybergate and check on my sales agents.
