Since the 90's, cafes have increased in numbers alongside the internet dependence of Filipinos.  The cafe phenomenon started with internet cafes, then early this century, big branded coffee shops like Starbuck's started to dominate the local scene. Now, cafes are known for "expensive" coffee and calorie-rich offerings. I rarely have a decent meal at a cafe and that is where Candiez Cafe is different.

One day, I went out to check the latest DVDs available at my favorite stall in E-Zone Paseo.  I saw that a couple of new food spots opening in that area. Since it was early afternoon, I went to check out Cafe Jasmin, a coffee shop owned by a friendly Korean woman.  At first I thought it was just one of those cute Korean-themed cafes but I was wrong.  Cafe Jasmin offers delicious coffee made from high-quality beans that make this unassuming a cafe a great spot for your daily caffeine fix.

Abaca Baking Company: The Trendiest Bakery/Cafe in Cebu

The Abaca restaurant group opened its newest outlet that is fast becoming the trendiest bakeshop/cafe in Cebu.  The Abaca Baking Company started serving fresh breads and pastries to Cebuanos a few weeks ago.  It is located at the Crossroads Mall in Banilad. The Abaca brand has always been a favorite among upscale diners and this new bakery/cafe/coffee shop is another sure hit by the famed restaurant group.

Having Sagada Coffee in Vietnamese Phin at Bintana

Recently, I had a meeting at Bintana at Elizabeth Pond Street. I have always been curious about this coffee shop and I have heard some good reviews from friends. It has been months that place has been on my radar. I finally had a cup of coffee at Bintana and left with some regret that I did not try this place earlier.
