Golden Cowrie has always been one of my favorite Filipino restaurants here in Cebu.  I was pleasantly surprised when I learned that they now serve breakfast in Robinsons Cybergate.  Their loaded breakfast sets range from 69 to 139 pesos only. I got to try some of their items when Lyndon Escosura invited me for a late breakfast.

Golden Cowrie serves their breakfast meals with a cup of coffee brewed in a French press.  The meals are served until 11:30 making it a perfect late breakfast or brunch option.

The chorizo rice serving is very generous. It is meant to be a fast meal ala Chowking's Chow Fan although it could be a suitable rice dish for a big breakfast. It would be a perfect compliment to some tapa or danggit.

The Chicken Congee is perfect for people on the go.  It is easy to eat and it was seasoned well. It is the cheapest among the breakfast selections at Golden Cowrie. The serving is good enough for an adult. The congee is a great alternative to typical "fatty" breakfast items.

I did not expect that the breakfast meals were filling.   I ate around 11 am and the chorizo rice actually became my lunch meal.  Lyndon told me that he is a regular there and the meals always give him a healthy dose of "busog". I will definitely try some of the other offerings some time. 

If you are in the Chong Hua Hospital area and you are tired lining up for a breakfast meal in fast food restaurants, grab at seat Golden Cowrie and start your day with a delicious morning at Golden Cowrie.  Golden Cowrie Robinsons Cybergate branch opens as early as 7 am.
