Affordable and delicious dimsum at Braddex
Cebu is like the dimsum capital of the Philippines. Cebuanos were lucky to have the Ding Qua Qua (Kokseng) Group which introduced them to the wonderful world of dimsum. I was introduced to dimsum way back in my elementary days at the old Ding Qua Qua in now what is known as Mango Square.
I have been a big fan of "steamed rice" way back. I used to do food trips with Buddy Ybanez every Saturday during our freshman year at UP High School in Cebu and steamed rice is one of our favorites. We sometimes make a bet on who finishes the most steamed rice orders in one sitting. Years passed and the Ding Qua Qua at Mango is gone but dim sum is still a favorite in Cebu.
If you are a dimsum fanatic, I am sure you have heard of Braddex Batchoy and Steamed Rice. This unassuming place in Tisa is the cheaper but not necessarily inferior alternative to commercialized dimsum places at the mall.
At Braddex, you can enjoy steamed rice, siomai, steamed chicken, siopao and many more dimsum items at very affordable prices. There is a lot of competition in Tisa as this part of the city is known for its delicious yet inexpensive food offerings. In Cebu, Tisa is synonymous to siomai.
Braddex Batchoy and Steamed Rice somehow carved a niche of their own. A lot of students and young professionals go here for snacks, lunch, dinner, and even midnight snacks. They are really famous for their steamed rice and batchoy as their name suggest but their siomai and siopai are yummy as well.
Next time you are craving for steamed rice, you should try Braddex. Braddex is the most budget friendly dimsum in Cebu City.
