Desserts at Skillet Japanese Cafe and Bistro
It was not my first time to eat at Skillet Japanese Cafe and Bistro. In fact, I made a blog post about the Dew Droplet Cake (Raindrop Cake) before. I really had fun eating it so I brought my friends to this cafe. This time, I got to try their newest offering which is the Dessert Ramen.
Dew Droplet Cake
The dew droplet cake or more popularly know as raindrop cake is like a solidified form of water. Inside this jelly-like substance is a Sakura flower that came all the way from Japan. To add flavor to this dessert, it is plated with black sugar syrup and toasted kinako (soybean flour). Flavors are definitely familiar as the eating experience is similar to having taho with a touch of espasol.
Dessert Ramen
The Dessert Ramen was introduced a couple of months ago. This is like the dew droplet cake but instead of forming the jelly into a ball, the chef formed it like a ramen. It is served with some fruits and your favorite sauce (matcha, black sugar, or mango). We picked the matcha on that day to give it a green tint. The eating experience is like having halo-halo without the ice. The owner suggested that you use chopsticks to eat it. It is quite tricky if you eat that way but it adds some fun factor to it.
In the end, my friends and I had a wonderful time at Skillet Japanese Cafe and Bistro. I would really want you to try their desserts. Please let me know what you think about the dew droplet cake and dessert ramen.
Skillet is located at Norkis Cyberpark in A.S. Fortuna Mandaue City (just beside J Centre Mall).
