Eat-All-You-Can Places in Cebu: Wing all you can at Burrow Lounge
For the past couple of months, I have been to some of the best chicken wing places in Cebu City. I have been a chicken wing lover for some time and I always want to try out every place that claim to have the best chicken wings in town. Months back, I heard of a place that offers unlimited chicken wings for less than 200 pesos ($5). The wing-all-you-can restaurant is called Burrow Lounge and it is located at Wilson Street, Lahug, Cebu City. The unlimited chicken wings deal really piqued my interest. I attempted several times to eat there, but I always failed to get a seat because the restaurant was full. The Burrow is packed during lunch and dinner time. I really suggest you go early to get a seat. Finally, the stars aligned a few weeks ago and I, along with a hungry Kalami Cebu crew, finally ate there.
The Burrow Lounge is easy to find. It is located at the ground floor of the Tsai Hotel in Wilson Street Lahug. It is in the same building where Tazza Cafe is located and it is just walking distance from JY Square Lahug.
Unlimited Chicken Wings at the Burrow Lounge is priced at 199 pesos per person. The deal includes unlimited serving of rice. Add 40 pesos and unlimited servings of Iced Tea is added to your meal. At 239 pesos, it is a big bargain especially if you have a gigantic appetite for chicken wings. They also serve other dishes, but people really come here for the chicken wings.
When I visited there, I was with my wife and the Virtudazo siblings (Nezte, Bheeboy, and Marnie). We were fortunate to get a seat inside after just fifteen minutes of waiting. We all decided to have unlimited wings, rice, and drinks.
- The price - At 199 pesos, you can have as much chicken wings in one sitting. I really lost count on how many wings I devoured that day, but all I know is that the bones that I took home for my askals lasted at least 2 meals for them. 199 pesos is practically just one serving at Gibb's and Bad Boys Wingz. If you can finish more than 12 fried chicken wings in one sitting then this is a perfect place for you.
- The chicken wings - The Burrow chicken wings come in 4 different flavors: Chili, Mild Teriyaki, Asian Barbecue, and Classic. The chili wings were not as spicy (maybe around a 3 in the Gibb's scale), but definitely it had some kick and its flavor was lovely. The classic was a well-seasoned fried chicken that reminded me of Shakey's chicken. The Asian barbecue was pleasantly sweet and the girls loved it. We were not able to taste the mild teriyaki because it was unavailable that night.
The Burrow Lounge might not claim to have the best chicken wings in Cebu, but I can say that the restaurant offers the best value among the chicken wing places in the city. The Burrow Lounge can actually compete well against other budget eat-all-you-can places in Cebu. The selection might be very limited, but their chicken wings are not too shabby. The Burrow Lounge is a must-try among chicken wing lovers. The place also has a great potential as a beer drinking place as fried chicken and beer really go well together.
