Dinner Date at Butterbean Desserts and Cafe

After seeing my previous post about Butterbean Desserts and Cafe, my wife wanted to eat there. One Sunday, we decided to have a "dinner date" there. I was not really particularly hungry that day so I just wanted to get some light meal. There are a lot of choices for meals at this dessert place and we decided to get lasagna, mini tacos, and ice cream sandwich.

My wife loves pasta and the lasagna at Butterbean satisfied her pasta craving.  It was creamy, cheesy, and the serving size was enough for one person.  The lasagna was mildly seasoned and it could use some salt and pepper to make it more flavorful.

I had the Butterbean Roast Beef Tacos.  It was bite-sized and the hot sauce was quite fiery. One taco was good for two bites.  It was perfect for me as I am a messy eater and having smaller tacos make it easier for me to enjoy this Mexican favorite.

We capped our dinner date by sharing an ice cream sandwich. I am a big fan of any baked goods that is topped with ice cream.  We both enjoyed the ice cream sandwich, but we felt it was too small to be shared. ;)

Butterbean Desserts・Cafe in Escario is a good place for light meals in the area. Light meals are recommended because you have to leave some space in your stomach for desserts.  The dessert options here are mind blowing and any sweet tooth could probably order two items. We had a good time when we were there and we would probably come back in the near future to try out the other dessert specialties.  What is your favorite Butterbean dessert?

Wing Night Part I: Bad Boys Wingz- Another Awesome Chicken Wing Place in Cebu

In the past year, there have been several restaurants in Cebu that wants to claim "The Best Wings Place in Cebu" title.  The introduction of several chicken wing places cannot outpace the demand for delicious and spicy chicken wings. It is definitely a booming segment as many  Cebuanos flock to their favorite wing place.  Recently, I had a "wing night" with my wife and we restaurant-hopped in two of the best chicken wing places in Cebu. First, we visited the newly opened Bad Boys Wingz right across Bright Academy in Talamban. This wing place used to be a small, but very popular food stall at the BTC and because of the high demand of chicken wings, the owners opened a stand-alone restaurant. I would say it was an excellent decision because they really serve one of the best chicken wings in Cebu.

Abaca Baking Company: The Trendiest Bakery/Cafe in Cebu

The Abaca restaurant group opened its newest outlet that is fast becoming the trendiest bakeshop/cafe in Cebu.  The Abaca Baking Company started serving fresh breads and pastries to Cebuanos a few weeks ago.  It is located at the Crossroads Mall in Banilad. The Abaca brand has always been a favorite among upscale diners and this new bakery/cafe/coffee shop is another sure hit by the famed restaurant group.
