Daniel Cabrera graduates Elementary with the the help of Ronald McDonald House Charities

CEBU, Philippines— In 2015, Daniel Cabrera was known all over the world as the little boy studying on the pavement under a faint light coming from a McDonald’s restaurant.

Four years later, friends and family look back at the fateful story in a special party for Daniel as he graduated from Subangdaku Elementary School.

To celebrate Daniel’s achievements, McDonald’s Philippines, through its charity of choice, Ronald McDonald House of Charities (RMHC), treated him to a graduation party in McDonald’s North Reclamation, Cebu—the same branch where Daniel was snapped by Joyce Torrefranca studying.

Torrefranca’s original post featuring Daniel first made its rounds on social media in June 2015 and has been picked up by local and international media shortly after. The post inspired a lot of netizens and brought about outpouring support not only from local organizations but also from the international community.

Since learning about the heartwarming story of Daniel, RMHC has been supporting him by providing him with his different school needs such as allowance, supplies, and uniform.
