Globe Group Empowers Cebu Provincial Government Service Caravan with Vital Telecom Support

In a remarkable display of commitment to societal progress, the Globe Group has provided crucial telecom support to the Provincial Government of Cebu's quarterly service caravan, held from mid-May to early June this year. This collaborative initiative brought an extensive range of government services closer to residents across the ten districts of Cebu.

Globe Group, a telecommunications giant, played a pivotal role by delivering robust fiber and wireless connectivity solutions to ensure seamless operations during the Caravan of Provincial Government Services. This contribution was particularly essential in areas with limited accessibility, guaranteeing the smooth delivery of digital services to all residents.

Moreover, the Group deployed a dedicated team to facilitate SIM card registration, ensuring compliance with mandatory regulations. This initiative aimed to assist individuals, particularly the elderly and those using basic or keypad phones, in registering and keeping their SIM cards active.

Globe's unwavering support spanned throughout the caravan, providing aid in various locations such as Barili, Medellin, Bantayan Island, Dalaguete, Alegria, Catmon, Consolacion, Pilar and Tudela in Camotes Island, and Carcar City.

Patrick Gloria, Globe Group Vice President for External Affairs, highlighted the company's commitment to creating a positive societal impact through technology. "Globe is dedicated to harnessing the power of technology to unite, empower, and advance communities. This partnership with the Provincial Government of Cebu is a testament to that," he said. "We take pride in being part of this initiative that brings government services closer to the people, bridging digital gaps and fostering stronger communities."

Mayor Avis G. Monleon of Catmon town expressed gratitude for Globe's support and encouraged residents to register their SIM cards before the July 25, 2023 deadline. "Register now and do not wait until the deadline of July 25, 2023. Thank you, Globe, for your support! I hope everyone here today will benefit from the Government Services led by our beloved Governor Gwen Garcia," Mayor Monleon stated.

The service caravan provided residents with convenient access to a range of essential services in one centralized location. This included medical and legal consultations, veterinary assistance, and comprehensive social welfare and agricultural support. Moreover, it served as a one-stop hub for major government services such as PhilHealth, Land Transportation Office (LTO), Social Security System (SSS), Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), and Pag-IBIG Fund.

Globe's support to the Cebu Provincial Government is part of its broader mission to promote digital literacy, inclusivity, and its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The company looks forward to further collaborations that support the community and enhance access to digital services.
