Cafes in Cebu: Backstory Kitchen and Cafe
One of the best ways to enjoy a weekend is to go to a newly-opened cafe. I went to Backstory Kitchen and Cafe a couple of weekends ago and I got an awesome meal at an awesome new place. I have been wanting to go this cafe for some time, but I just cannot find a place to park during weekdays. Going there on a weekend was indeed a brilliant idea and I want to go back there more often.
Backstory Kitchen and Cafe is a small and cozy cafe/dessert place located at Don Mariano Cui St., Capitol Site, Cebu City. It is located adjacent to Yakski Barbecue. The cafe serves pasta, burger, sandwiches, cupcakes, coffee, frappes, tea, and milk tea.
I went there on an afternoon with a friend and we decided to get the Backstory Burger and their spaghetti. I also ordered a Speculoos cookie butter frappe. My friend likes to take photos and post in Instagram and she had a great time as Backstory Kitchen and Cafe. The new cafe has many Insta-worthy dishes and nooks that could generate a ton of likes.
The items that we ordered were well-presented and #foodporn-worthy. The Backstory Burger came on a board with some fries and 3 shot glasses of condiments. Their burger can give hamburgers from fast food burger places a run for their money. It looks good, tastes good, and priced good. It is an ideal meal for the social media generation. I could really recommend this for lunch or snacks.
The drinks were Instagram-worthy as well. I love the glass that they use with the Speculoos cookie butter frappe. They even put a cookie on my drink. If you love the famous spread then you are going to love the drink. The frappe has strong hints of the Speculoos cookie butter from its aroma down to its taste. This is one of the pretty unique frappes that you should try.
The pasta was al dente and had a generous amount of sauce. It was balanced and pasta lovers would be happy with the spaghetti there.
It was a pleasure eating there and I even got some cupcakes for take-out. Backstory Kitchen and Cafe is another new cafe that you should try and check out. The place looks great and there are so many areas in the cafe that will be good for #selfie, #relationshipgoals, #anniversary and #happytummy posts. Check out #backstorykitchenandcafe on Instagram and see how great is this cafe in generating likes to your social media accounts. ;)
