Dessert Places: Cream Puffs by Chewy Junior

Last week, I was buying groceries in J Center Mall and I asked my wife if she wanted me to buy something for her.  She told me she wants sweets and the first place I saw was Chewy Junior. I ended up buying a box of 8 cream puffs.

Chewy Junior started in Singapore and it now has several branches in Philippines. The pastry shop specializes in cream puffs of different flavors and fillings.  The sweet treats come in two sizes, regular and petite. The regular-sized cream puff is priced at 45 pesos each while the smaller one is at 25 pesos per piece.
The creme puffs at Chewy Junior is perfect for snacks or dessert. They are so nice to look at but way better eaten. You can mix and match when you buy a box.
Chewy Junior has 3 branches in Cebu. Aside from J Center, the dessert chain has branches in Ayala Center Cebu and Robinsons Cybergate.

My wife loved the surprise. Of the 8 petite puffs that I brought, she ate 5. The Chewy Junior cream puffs are good alternatives to donuts and cake.  It comes in different flavors and it is not too expensive.

Best Restaurants in Cebu: The Weekend

One of the first ever favorite restaurants of Kalami Cebu was Carnivore in The Gallery, Mabolo .  I was so impressed with the Cebuano chefs who managed it because they were not afraid to innovate and use some advanced cooking methods.  Too bad, they closed down already.  I really missed the meat dishes of Kurt Famador and company.  I was hoping to see more Cebuano culinary talents to step up their game and compete with the "big boys" of the local restaurant scene.  Then, The Weekend happened!  As #TheWeekendPH turns 1, I do believe that Chef Jan Rodriguez took the cudgels of becoming the benchmark of an excellent local restaurant.
