Eat-All-You-Can Restaurant in Cebu: Very affordable Buffet Lunch at Isidra Comfort Cantina
It was Friday and I had an appointment at Chong Hua Hospital around 10 am. My appointment ended past 11 am so I was looking for a place to eat lunch. While driving a long the Capitol site area, I saw a poster about a 149-peso buffet. Really, 149 pesos only? It got me really curious and luckily I found a parking space nearby.
I decided to check out the affordable lunch buffet at Isidra Comfort Cantina. I want to know why a place can offer a lunch buffet at such affordable price.

I was like the first person there on that day and it gave me an opportunity to take a look at their dishes and talk to the staff. The staff was really friendly and they answered a lot of my questions. A lot of their dishes were vegetables which was really good for it was a Friday during the Lenten season. They had mongo soup, plain rice, garlic rice, pancit, a host of vegetable dishes, pork stew, and some fried items.
If you are a vegetarian or on a diet, the options here are many. They have sautéed cabbage, pinakbet, and beans. They also have pickled vegetables and guso, a local seaweed.
For fried items, they have some pieces of chicken, crabs, and fried vegetable chips. The vegetable chips are made of kangkong (water spinach) and talong (eggplant) cooked a la tempura style.
Since it was Friday, I picked mostly vegetable dishes. The 149 peso meal included one glass of Iced tea. They will also give a pitcher of water upon request. I was happy with my meal. The mongo soup was a good starter. What I enjoyed the most was the vegetable chips. I keep on coming back for it. It as crunchy and well-seasoned and it somehow reminds me of ngohiong.
I wanted to eat dessert but I was really full with the buffet and I was alone and I felt that I cannot finish one order. Isidra Comfort Cantina serves some cold desserts like gelato and iced candy. The restaurant also serves some tempting desserts like leche flan, calamansi custard meringue, and mango float. I saw a group of young ladies order desserts and they really look good. I am planning to go back there some other time and try out their deserts.
All in all, the 149 was worth it. Meat lovers probably would not be too happy but if you love veggies, this is a great place to go. If you love meat, you can check out Isidra Comfort Cantina's protein galore buffet at 299 pesos every Saturday night.
