6-6-2015 Food of the Day: Budbud and Manga

Budbud or steamed sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves is one my favorite local delicacies or kakanin.  It is a very flexible delicacy that it can be eaten as a dessert, snack, or even breakfast food.  When I go home to my dad's hometown in Bohol, I always look forward to eating budbud for breakfast.  It goes so well with sikwate or hot chocolate.  Another great combo for budbud is eating with ripe mangoes. Budbud with manga has become so popular that even local restaurants started offering the amazing combination.

We recently celebrated the Lunar New Year or more popularly known as Chinese New Year.   I consider myself fortunate as I was able to witness two grand Chinese New Year celebrations.   I went to Marco Polo Plaza Cebu for Chinese New Year's Eve and then to Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino Mactan for the New Year's Day feast.

I was invited recently at the relaunch of Golden Prince Hotel's Taste of Heaven along with some of my friends from the Cebu Blogging Community. Just like any ordinary guy, I love eat-all-you-can buffets. I am the type of person who would like to taste everything and eat as much. Cafe Laguna 25th Anniversary Buffet for a Cause

Cafe Laguna has always been one of my favorite Filipino restaurants in Cebu.  When I dine at any of their restaurants, I know that it is going to be a feast.  Last year, I was in their 24th-anniversary buffet and I definitely had a heavy dose of #happytummy.
