Burger Places in Cebu: Sliders and Chops at Black Iron Cebu
One time, Kalami Cebu team member Lotlot Madura was craving for meat. She was really hungry and she wanted me to find a good place to eat. We drove to Banilad and checked out Black Iron Cebu at the Ginza Compound in J. Panis Street. I heard that this place serves some delicious burgers and other meat dishes. I was really glad that I was able to try the dishes of probably one of the finest burger places in Cebu.
How to get to Black Iron Burger: Coming from Ayala, you drive to Banilad and you take the road going towards Cebu Memorial Park or CEMPARK (J. Panis Street). Around 200 meters from the corner, you will see the Ginza compound. You drive to the interior portion compound and you will find Black Iron Burger. There many places to park in the compound.
The restaurant has a nice interior. It has a very relaxing feel. The wall was decorated with a card collection. As for the menu, they serve burgers, steaks, and other meat dishes. Price-wise, Black Iron Grill is more expensive than your typical burger place but they also offer premium burgers and cheeses that are not usually found in other burger places in Cebu.
I decided to get a burger. What I liked at Black Iron Cebu is that their hamburgers are fully customizable. I was given the choice to create my own Black Iron Burger masterpiece. Creating your own designer burger can be done in just 4 east steps.
Step 1: Choose the size of your burger. It can be a third of a pound (P220), sliders (P240), half-pounder (330), or the special Rib-eye Half-pounder (P450). I decided to get the sliders because I wanted Lotlot to have a piece as well.
Step 2: Choose the bun. It can be whole-wheat bread, white bread, or in the grass. I think I picked white bread.
Step 3: Load it up with different toppings. The free toppings are lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. Black Iron Cebu allows customers to add more toppings. One can add smoked bacon (P40), Fried Egg (P15), Jalapeno (P15), Caramelized Onions (P20), and/or Sauteed Mushrooms (P20). I added sauteed mushrooms to my sliders.
Step 4: Cheese it up. Black Iron Cebu offers Pepper Jack (P35), American Cheddar (P30), and Smoked Chedda (P30). I picked smoked cheddar.
Carlo's Special Black Iron Burger ended up to be a slider in white bread topped sauteed mushrooms, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, and smoked cheddar. There are dozens of combinations to choose from and this restaurant is a great place to make your fantasy burger into reality.
A lot of burger lovers would love some sides dishes to come along with their burgers. At Black Iron Cebu, you have three options: Urban Fries (Crispy Fries tossed with Garlic Parmesan and Herbs), Fries Well-Done (Extra Crispy Fries seasoned with Sea Salt), and Oh!!! Rings ("stick-to-the-ring" battered onion rings fried to a crisp). I decided to get the onion rings.
Since Lotlot was really starved, she decided to get a rice meal and ordered the Monster Chops. It was really humongous and really thick.
I was super satisfied with the burger that I "invented". Beef and mushrooms really go well together. The sliders were easy to eat. It was around 2 bites for me. The 100% U.S. Angus Beef Patty was well-seasoned and juicy. If there was something that I can change with my meal it would be ordering fries instead of the Oh!!! Rings. The Monster Chop was succulent and we had a hard time finishing it all. The serving was really big so for a woman no matter how famished she is. Thanks to the chops, we had a truly belly-busting meal at Black Iron Cebu.
If you are a burger lover, you should check it Black Iron Cebu. It might be a bit expensive, but you will be able to create your personal burger masterpiece using high-quality ingredients. If you have made a wonderful burger here, comment and share with us your amazing burger creation. ;)
