Dim Sum at Tsim Sha Tsui Robinsons Cybergate
It has been quite a while since I have last eaten Steamed Rice. I am not talking about cooked rice. Steamed Rice has a different meaning for Cebuanos. Steamed rice is the ultimate rice dish found in dim sum places in Cebu. The Cebuano favorite is made of fried rice topped with a rich sauce that has pork, shrimp, and peas. A new dim sum place opened in Robinsons Cybergate and since I was craving for dim sum, I invited some of my workmates to eat at Tsim Sha Tsui.
Tsim Sha Tsui got its name from an area in Southern Kowloon, Hong Kong bearing the same name. The restaurant specializes in Hong Kong-style dim sum. The new branch of Tsim Sha Tsui is located at the ground floor of Robinsons Cybergate, near Fuente Osmena Cebu. Their first branch is at the Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu. The Ayala branch is known for its conveyor belt dim sum buffet. The new branch is purely a la carte.
Just like any other dim sum place in Cebu, Tsim Sha Tsui-Robinsons Cybergate also offers fried and steamed dim sum specialties. We ordered some siomai, fried dumplings, spring rolls, and soups to compliment our steamed rice. We also had Jasmine Tea instead of ordering sweet beverages.
We had an awesome lunch. We enjoyed the food as much as the usual "work" jokes and conversations. The food was tasty and Tsim Sha Tsui could do well at Robinsons Cybergate. The price is a bit expensive than the usual dim sum place, but the flavor profile is spot on and the quality is solid. I am just pleased that there is now a decent dim sum place in the area.
