Wing Night Part I: Bad Boys Wingz- Another Awesome Chicken Wing Place in Cebu
In the past year, there have been several restaurants in Cebu that wants to claim "The Best Wings Place in Cebu" title. The introduction of several chicken wing places cannot outpace the demand for delicious and spicy chicken wings. It is definitely a booming segment as many Cebuanos flock to their favorite wing place. Recently, I had a "wing night" with my wife and we restaurant-hopped in two of the best chicken wing places in Cebu. First, we visited the newly opened Bad Boys Wingz right across Bright Academy in Talamban. This wing place used to be a small, but very popular food stall at the BTC and because of the high demand of chicken wings, the owners opened a stand-alone restaurant. I would say it was an excellent decision because they really serve one of the best chicken wings in Cebu.
Bad Boys Wingz is located in Talamban. The new restaurant is on the left side of the road after the Banilad-Talamban flyover. It is very close to USC Talamban and UV Gullas. It is hard to miss the place at night as they have a nicely illuminated logo and the restaurant is well lit. The crew and the owners are very attentive to your needs and request. The place looks sleek with a bad boy vibe. They have parking space enough for a few cars, but it could be a problem on some nights.
When I went there, I was with my wife and we decided to order 2 kinds of chicken wings and crispy mojo potatoes. I did not order any rice because I really wanted to enjoy their specialty, plus I did not want to be too full as we are going to another place afterwards. The order came pretty quick since they have several fried chicken wings ready to be bathed in their delicious sauces.
We had the Bad Boys Wingz mild and suicide chicken wings. One order is comprised of 6 chicken wing cut-ups. I ordered mild chicken wings for my wife and the suicide wings for me to test how hot their wings can get. It was indeed scorchingly hot and I think I was sweating after eating just a couple of suicide Bad Boys Wingz. The place had a good air-conditioning, but my forehead was dripping with sweat. I really enjoyed it. I loved their chicken wings. The skin was still very crispy and it was seasoned really well. The sauce was spot on and there were no over promises by Bad Boys Wingz. My wife was even able to finish a piece of the suicide chicken wings. The mild chicken wings were also flavorful. I love the touch of blue cheese and my wife really enjoyed its sourness making the chicken wings really mouth-watering. I am glad that I did not order rice because I might have ended up eating at least 2 cups.
The crispy mojos were an instant favorite for us. We always love Shakey's mojo potatoes, but we think that the Bad Boys Wingz crispy mojos were better. The potatoes were thinly sliced and it was a cross between your favorite potato chips and the chunkier Shakey's mojos. I would definitely order this every time I come back to this restaurant.
It was an awesome start for our Wing Night and I really recommend this place if you are craving for some delicious, crispy, and intensely hot chicken wings. The prices at Bad Boys Wingz are very reasonable in relation to the quality of the food and the place. It is a great place for a date for couples who love good food. I will definitely come back and bring some friends here to try out their other specialties.
